Istanbul on the brink - from an ARD Wissen documentary It could be one of the most devastating catastrophes in recent history: according to many scientists, the Turkish metropolis of Istanbul is threatened by a massive earthquake. Actress and filmmaker Nisan Arikan witnessed a major earthquake in the region when she was nine years old. Together with geophysicist Patricia Martinez-Garzon, who researches the earthquake risk in Istanbul, with EUCENTRE and ISAAC, she is looking for solutions to protect people and buildings from earthquakes.
