Since 2021, SCF has been present on the market with a line of ECO products compliant with the Remade In Italy® technical specification and containing up to 100% raw material coming from recycled components. Aware that sustainability can no longer be approached as the added value of daily choices, but rather must represent their prerequisite, we have intensified our commitment in this direction. Plastbau Metal ECO100+ slabs are now Carbon Neutral. This means that our customers will be able to choose construction materials designed and created with a view to protecting the environment, actively contributing to the conservation of resources for the benefit of all of us tomorrow. The achievement of Carbon Neutrality is the result of the adoption of a Greenhouse Gas Emissions Management Plan (Carbon Footprint Management Plan) to monitor and reduce the emissions associated with the life cycle of the Plastbau Metal Slab. The calculation methodology used refers to the international standard "The Greenhouse Gas Protocol - A Corporate Accounting and Reporting Standard" in compliance with the indications of PAS 2060:2014. The reduction of emissions was achieved through actions ranging from the modernization of the company vehicle fleet to the replacement of the entire fleet of company forklifts (diesel-powered) with electric forklifts, from the procurement of electricity from renewable sources, to the use of LED technology lighting fixtures. the purchase of carbon credits represents an integral part of the commitment to achieving carbon neutrality of our products. We have chosen two projects from Det Norske Veritas Climate Change Services AS (DNV) and SGS Climate Change Programme. The correct implementation of the actions detailed in the Carbon Footprint Management Plan and the compensations were verified by an independent third-party body, Bureau Veritas Italia S.p.A., and the credits were issued only after the actual reduction of emissions.
